The CDC recently released guidelines recommending that the public wear a cloth face mask in settings where social distancing is hard to maintain (such as grocery stores, and pharmacies).
We all know that masks have been hard to come by, so we want to do our part to help make masks accessible to more people. As such, we are working with two local sewers to create cotton cloth face masks from our extra shirt fabric.
With each mask sold, we will donate $5 to the New York City organization Women In Need (WIN).
The masks are made from two layers of high-quality woven shirt fabric, and have a pocket on the inside, so you have the option to insert your own filter. The ties can be tied behind the ear to keep the mask securely in place.
These are NOT medical grade masks, and are not a substitute for social distancing.
These are NOT medical grade. This dual-layered fabric mask is intended for personal use only and is not meant to replace a surgical face mask.
CDC states that cloth face masks are an additional voluntary public health measure people can take to reduce the spread of COVID-19. They still recommend that you continue to practice social distancing and frequent hand cleaning.
